All children have the right to an education that will enable them to reach their full potential. We believe that each child has individual and unique needs and acknowledge that some children require more support than others.
A child has special educational needs if he/she requires additional or different provision from the provision made generally for children of their age in that school. In order to support these children we recognise their needs and plan accordingly.
The Head Teacher, Staff, and Governors of our school are committed to the inclusion of children with Special Needs.
What is the Local Offer?
The Government has listened to parents experiences of services and have put in place a number of things to bring about improvements. One of these is the Local Offer.
Local authorities and other services will set out a local offer of all services available to support children who are disabled or who have SEN and their families. This easy-to-understand information for parents and young people will set out what is normally available to help children with lower-level SEN, as well as the options available to support families who need additional help to care for their child
The council for disabled children have provided information and advice on the Local Offer. This helps identify what should be included in the 'Local Offer' – and helps parents recognise if their local offer includes everything it should.
Please see the links below to find out more about how our school provides for children with Special Needs in our Local Offer and our SEND Information Report.
