Acorn Class Update

This week, Acorn Class has been soaking up the wonderful sunshine and enjoying their phonics and literacy lessons outdoors.

While our Year 2 children were away on a residential trip, EYFS and Year 1 took full advantage of the opportunity to transform into superheroes!

Using bubble printing and Ben Dot techniques, the children created amazing superhero capes, masks, and cuffs. This exciting activity has inspired some fantastic writing from our EYFS children and has been a fun way to practice positional language in maths.

It’s incredible how wearing a cape can magically help turn letters and numbers the right way round!

We’re so proud of our little superheroes and all the wonderful work they’ve accomplished this week.

 

Oak Class Weekly Highlights!

This week in Oak Class has been full of exciting activities and beautiful sunshine! Here's a glimpse into what we've been up to:

We kicked off the week with an outdoor whole school assembly, soaking up the sun and discussing what it means to be a good friend. Inspired by the sharing of friendship bands at the Taylor Swift concerts, we had some thoughtful and heartwarming discussions.

In English, our creativity shone through as we planned and completed our independent writing projects. We've been rewriting parts of Wonder with a twist, basing our stories on different disabilities and exploring the unique challenges faced by our new characters. The insights and empathy shown by the children have been truly inspiring.

Science has taken us to the stars as we started our new unit on the Earth, Sun, and Moon. The enthusiasm was infectious as the children eagerly shared their existing knowledge and curiosities about the cosmos.

Year 6 chidlren shone brightly during Sport's Day at St. George's. They put in tremendous effort and we’re proud to celebrate their achievements, including a few 2nd and 3rd place finishes. Well done, everyone!

Music class has been a hit with our budding musicians using an app on the iPads to produce their own tunes.

We've thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work outside this week and make the most of the lovely weather. Here's to more sunny days and amazing learning experiences in Oak Class!
