Week Ending 5th December

🎄 This Week at Mossy Lea Primary School! 🎄

Christmas has officially arrived at Mossy Lea! Each class had a wonderful time decorating their very own Christmas tree, bringing festive cheer to every corner of the school. 🎄✨ Rehearsals are well underway for our Christmas production Ralph the Reindeer, and the creativity continued in Art as children designed their own Christmas cards.

During our whole-school assembly, we reflected on the question: What does it mean to feel included? We also heard about the FA’s exciting new plans to raise awareness and increase participation in disability football. To help us empathise, we’ve received special footballs with bells inside, used by blind or partially sighted players, and we can’t wait to try them out with blindfolds—tying perfectly into our school value: We Are Considerate. ⚽🔔

🌟 Classroom Highlights 🌟

  • Oak Class has been inspired by their History topic on local history. They’ve been working on independent writing, producing a discussion text titled: We Believe the Pendle Witches Should Be Executed. Such impressive cross-curricular learning!
  • Acorn Class has started reading Winter’s Child by Angela McAllister. We’re excited to hear how they’re enjoying this magical winter tale. 📚❄️

A quick reminder: please ensure all Christmas play costumes are in school by Monday. If you have any questions, feel free to ask Antonella.

Thank you for a fantastic week of learning, creativity, and kindness. Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
