What a brilliant first week back at school we've had at Mossy! ๐
We kicked off the new term with a magical trip to St George’s to watch the pantomime of Sleeping Beauty – such a fun way to get everyone excited for the months ahead! ๐ญโจ
Back at school, the excitement continued. The children were greeted with a chocolate river (yes, really!), and it didn’t take long to guess that this term’s reading journey would be through Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ๐ซ๐ญ. What a sweet start!
In Oak Class, the learning has been buzzing! From writing diary entries in role as Victorian workhouse children, linked to our Oliver Twist playscript unit, to using micro:bits in Computing to design our very own LED name badges ๐๐ก. The children even brought their workhouse experiences to life during a dance lesson with Chorley SSP – so much fun and creativity! ๐
Acorn Class has been on a bit of a mystery adventure, gradually discovering their new topic through daily clues. They’re exploring robots, and already making predictions for their English book, Nobot by Sue Hendra ๐ค. In Computing, they’ve started learning about algorithms and put their new knowledge to the test by creating their own instructions for building Lego models! ๐งฉ
And of course, we can’t forget the highlight of the week – SNOW! โ๏ธ The school field and playground turned into a winter wonderland, and the children had a blast building snowmen and playing in the snow. Plus, the new slippers have been a hit, keeping everyone’s feet toasty warm as they enjoyed the snowy fun! ๐งฃ๐งค
What a fantastic start to the term. Here's to more exciting adventures ahead! ๐๐
