Acorn Class Update
What an incredible week it's been in Acorn class! We've been soaking up the sunshine and taking our learning outdoors.
Year One and Two blew us away with their independent writing, crafting alternate endings to Peter Rabbit .Plus, we had a special visitor, Fluff the support dog, who stole our hearts and left a paw-print on our memories inspiring our reception children to write about his adventures. We can’t wait for his next visit when we can read our Peter rabbit stories to him.
In maths, it's been all about numbers – from investigating fractions to time, each day brought new discoveries.
In Art, we've been channelling the techniques of Georgia O'Keefe, adding our own flair to our mark making. Here's to more adventures and learning ahead!
Oak Class Update
What an exciting week it's been in Oak Class! Let's take a look at some of the highlights:
Whole School Assembly: We kicked off the week with a thought-provoking assembly where we delved into the intriguing question - Can the past help us learn about modern life? We explored a fascinating new study that suggests Neanderthals were more sophisticated than previously thought compared to Homo Sapiens. It sparked some fantastic discussions among our students!
English Adventures: Our young wordsmiths have completed their lift-the-flap books and their creativity knows no bounds! They had a blast sharing these treasures with their reading buddy partners from Acorn Class. It's incredible to see the joy of storytelling spread across our school!
Literary Journey: We've embarked on a thrilling new narrative unit inspired by the legendary tale of Beowulf, beautifully retold by Michael Morpurgo. Get ready for epic adventures and courageous feats as we dive into this timeless classic!
Scientific Discoveries: In Science, our exploration of the human body has begun with a fascinating focus on the circulatory system. Already, our children are soaking up knowledge like sponges, especially when it comes to understanding the heart.
Class Call-In: A huge thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us for Class Call-In! Your support means the world to us, and it was heartwarming to witness the enthusiasm as our children shared their incredible work with you. Your encouragement fuels their passion for learning!
Here's to another week of curiosity, creativity, and camaraderie in Oak Class! Stay tuned for more adventures ahead.
