🌟 Weekly Round-Up in Oak Class 🌟

This week has been full of excitement and learning in Oak Class! Here’s a glimpse of what we've been up to:

🌍 Whole School Assembly:

We started the week with an engaging assembly discussing the important question - Should we always be prepared for an emergency? This was inspired by the UK government's new website, prepare.campaign.gov.uk, which is designed to help people plan for potential dangers and equip themselves with the knowledge and resources to respond effectively.

📚 English:

In English, we've moved into our writing phase by innovating a section from the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Our focus has been on using fronted adverbials and emotive language to enhance our writing. The creativity and emotion in the children's work have been truly impressive!

🏛️ History:

Our History lessons have been a journey through time, exploring the achievements and legacies of the Maya civilization and significant events of the 20th century. We delved into the fascinating Dresden Codex and learned about the Mayans' contributions to chocolate. Additionally, we studied the monumental moon landing in 1969. The students were captivated by these historical milestones!

📊 Maths:

In Maths, Years 3 and 4 successfully completed units on bar graphs and coordinates. Meanwhile, Years 5 and 6 tackled decimals and angles in polygons with great determination. The progress and understanding shown by all children have been fantastic.

We are proud of the hard work and enthusiasm demonstrated by everyone in Oak Class this week. Keep up the excellent work, and let’s look forward to another week of learning and fun! 🌟📖✏️🧮
